This Ramadan, as we quench our thirst at sunset, millions of families, women, and children will not be so lucky. 

"Inadequate access to safe water and sanitation services, coupled with poor hygiene practices, kills and sickens thousands of children every day, and leads to impoverishment and diminished opportunities for thousands more." - UNICEF

Water is a basic necessity for life. However, for too many people around the world, water can also be the cause of illness and disease. In regions of the world where water is difficult to find, water-borne illnesses devastate the population and threaten the lives of millions.  

Water is fundamental to our survival as a people. Anything that threatens it, threatens the dignity of our brothers and sisters. This Ramadan, UMR is working alongside our partner, Human Appeal UK, to implement a joint emergency health intervention in an effort to improve the dire health status of war-affected people. After the incredible support for our water projects that we've seen since the start of last Ramadan, we hope you will join us in providing clean and safe water to thousands of people in need. 

At UMR, we are guided by the belief that water is the fundamental basis of life. We believe that each human being has a basic human right to consumable water, and that this right is undermined by the significant obstacles faced by the 750 million people who lack access to clean, safe water.
